Please be sure to register for your assessment. Course 12 is assessed by means of a mini dissertation.

You will notice that, when quoted, Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks & Accounting Theory and Practice are priced together. Although these are separate learning areas, we recommend that they are completed together. Accounting Theory and Practice is not assessed by the ICB in the usual manner. Instead of five Formative Assessments and one Summative Assessment, this learning area is assessed by virtue of the submission of a short dissertation ( a research study). The topics on which the research study is based are derived from the content studied in Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks. Thus, you are advised to register with ICB for both assessments at the same time, and to work on your dissertation while studying towards the completion of the Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks learning area. It is ideal to send your completed research study to the ICB at more or less the same time as your scheduled final Summative Assessment for Financial Reporting and Regulatory Frameworks.

When students write the final assessment they will need to provide their PoE and include any assignments given to them as well the tests taken and include it in their PoE, which an ICB registered assessor will then check. The activities and evaluations are essential, as they fully prepare students for the final assessment, and also provide evidence of the work done leading up to it. The Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) is a folder posted to students at the start of the course (once registered for an assessment with the ICB). Your PoE is complete when your final summative assessment (exam) is added to it at the end of your course.

Students can register for assessments by going to www.icg.org.za
