This programme is the second of the CGISA professional qualifications. It provides the student with a level of knowledge and skill that is required for management, administration and governance positions in the practical workplace while still having an understanding of the CGISA philosophy and operational requirements. It also provides a step to a higher level of learning in governance, administration and finance, and widens the learner’s opportunities for advancement.

Description
This is the second programme of the CGISA professional qualification.
The CGISA qualification prepares candidates to become Chartered Secretaries or Governance Professionals.
Chartered secretaries and governance professionals are highly sought after, with a broad base of skills.
With the curriculum covering governance, law, accounting, and strategy, chartered secretaries and governance professionals provide a focal point for independent advice and guidance on the conduct of business, governance and compliance.
Once completed you can move on to Programme 3 of the CGISA professional qualification. Once all 3 Programmes are completed you will be awarded your Governance Practitioner Qualification (NQF L7) and have the opportunity to complete the Board Level.

Designation
Once all 3 programmes have been completed you will be awarded your Governance Professional Qualification and can then apply with the CGISA for membership.

Successful completion of CGISA Programme 1.
Exemptions may be awarded based on equivalent studies / qualifications. Please chat to one of our Course Advisors should you wish to apply for exemptions based on previous studies.

Assessment
Venue based exams take place in May (cutoff date to book your exam 31 March) and October (31 Oct) each year.
4 Final Examinations, 1 per subject.
It's recommended to complete not more than 2 subjects per exam sitting.
